I have been hiking to a old shake mill that I suspected was from 1900-1920's.
The mill must have burned down as the ground is covered in nails...I spent five years metal detecting a logging camp that burned, so I know what clues to for and then I pull every nail to find the goods. The clue was a "Broncho" button and the oldest suspender buckle I have found yet. The buckle has a protruding Lion face and says "The Lion Brace" I found a old add from 1874 that I believe was the manufacturer.. image.jpg
here is a pic of the buckle before it was cleaned... image.jpg
I also found 7 pennies in a 5x5' area that I suspect were in a pocket that went through the fire. The oldest is a 1874 indian (my oldest coin ever found) and the newest coin was 1918 s, also 1913 s, 1917 s, the other three coins were toasted too bad to find a date.
I found a early plastic pipe bit and the biggest harmonica I have ever found, almost twice as long as normal. image.jpg also pictured is a Acme steam carberator tag from Seattle Wa and another suspender buckle with diamond pattern.
