Just found an awesome late 1600s buckle with most its guts

Really loving this buckle. Was all of 10-12" down very near to where I pulled a 1600s nipple button a while back. Ill have to look for a match in my buckle book when I get home but pretty sure it dates no later than 1720. First early two piece buckle I have found with an intact chape(most of it) and made of the same material as the frame. Ive been doing really well with early buckles since last fall

Thanks again everybody. This type of buckle is probably a once in a lifetime kind of find. A trefoil spectacle buckle and now this so I cant think of any other type of colonial buckle I would want over these except for a solid silver one of course
