Revolutionary War 29th Regiment of foot. A beauty!

Well the new permission is still giving. Really happy with this one. My best preserved pewter Revolutionary War button found in a field and not just of any regiment but the 29th. Found it less than 100 feet from my previous Rev War find, the 67th regiment of foot button from the same period.

Close to Montreal and Burgoyne's route, I think it confirms the fact that some of the 67th regiment soldiers were marching with Burgoyne's troops.



Also found a few pieces of musket (a part of a ramrod and of a buttstock) and a few dropped musketballs.

Isn't this your second 29th? And both in such great condition. I posted some of what I learned about that regiment's history on that first thread...amazing ties to the pre-revolutionary tensions in Boston (including a certain pivotal conflict with civilians there in 1770) as well as rev actions.

Yes. It's my second 29th. First being a cuff sized one in a much better condition. This one is from a new permission. From what I understand the design of the button is from 1773 so after the Boston massacre. But is sure the same design worn during the Revolutionary War.
