Hey everyone,

I found this knife this morning. It was in the area of a civil war camp near Fort Snelling in Minnesota on the shore of the Mississippi (legal detecting area). It was about 8 inches down.

My gut tells me it's not civil war era, but what do you think?

I don't have a picture of the other side yet, but there seems to be an engraving of what looks like a bell.

Thank you for the welcome.

Here's the other side showing what I think is a bell. Also those "screws" look more like rivets. I could be wrong. Any ideas anyone?

I don't know enough to identify it but it looks pretty old.
If it was 8 inches down it had to be there a while...

Looks like a typical Swedish folding knife, likely less than 70 years old. Lots of folks of Swedish descent in Minn. and a likely place to find such knives.
