Today I first went to an old house(for here) built in 1909. The yard was very small and trashy. I went very slow and found some modern change, the hand grenade, and an antique copper ring, which appeared to have a hole in the center, so I assumed it used to have a post with a stone in it which was now long gone. I was done with the house in 45 minutes, then went to a local junior high that is newer.
In 45 minutes there I found 2 silver rings and modern change before the skies opened up with a wild thunderstorm. The CTR ring is like several I have found that I showed in my "blast from the past" post the other day http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,100113.0.html . See that post for an explanation of the ring. The large silver ring gave a signal that registered a little higher than quarter, it is hefty.
When I got home I noticed the initials in the antique ring. I then looked closer at the front and noticed there was a clear gem in the hole, and the design was suns rays coming off from the gem with just a little gold gilt left in the rays.
I am 99% sure the stone is a diamond , which would be my first ever! I will take it any way I can get it.

Nice finds,

That is a oldie ring for sure. Grounds were pretty rough at that spot. A nice polish would smooth it all out.

The grenade is a miniature childs toy that at one time you could probably put caps in and have it make a small bang when it landed. Little things like that make metal detecting such an amazing hobby, you never know what you will find next!
