I haven't been able to post in a while due to a long dry spell metal detecting. My fiance has been finding silver but other than some coin roll hunting finds...I have been in a frustrating zero silver find lately.
But today.....well the dry spell got a little rain today and I was lucky to find some beautiful silvers.

1964 dime in Uncirculated condition! It has nary a scuff on it. Found it about 7-8" under the ground.

and then..... Standing Liberty Quarter with no date readable but hey...it's silver.

Chris found a 1943 Silver (lady head) Mercury dime, not shown. Not too bad for about 2 hrs of swinging the coils

Sorry about the pictures...spilled some coffee on the paper towel we laid our clad coins on when we got home.

Nice job ending the dry spell...I have always wanted to find a silver that is near uncirculated...makes you wonder how many hands touched that coin before you.

So, if there isn't at least a silver, nothing else is interesting enough to share with friends?

Congrats! (I guess).

Congratulations on ending your drought. Very nice finds. Have you ever found any settler sites from the French and Indian war era? There must have been some farms along the shores to supply the fort.

When in Michigan we have detected near many fort areas but many of them are protected sites and you cannot detect directly on them. Some of the fields near them have turned up some very nice silver in the past. We have had a few honey holes that appeared to never have been detected. But when in Utah, there are no such areas that we know of except for near old railroad track areas and areas of migration but it is farther and few between here.
