Found a foundation today that was very trashy. Found a 1853 large cent on the top of the stairs to the foundation. About 20 yards away was the token. The day started with a little sun which turn to rain the rest of the hunt. 20170519_201904.jpg 20170519_201833.jpg 20170519_201801.jpg 0526071511.jpg downsized950526071701.jpg IMG_0332.JPG IMG_0333.JPG
I don't know why my iPad pictures are alway upside down.

Dang that large cent is in great shape, and the little ornate buckle (bottom middle) is a real looker too! Congrats

Agreed with J. Cache, great condition to the LC and love that suspender buckle (both of them actually). Also, do you know what top left object is (coin size with center hole and crossbar)? I've found two recently and didn't pursue it, but thought a counter weight of some kind.

I believe that thing is a hem weight. I guess the ladies back in the old days didn't want to show off to the boys when a breeze came up haha!

Nice finds Tony. The LC is in great shape. You're really killing the tokens lately too. Maybe I'll be able to get out with you next time. Keep up the good work.

Yep, hem weight, dress, or curtain weight depending on the size. I sure the boys cursed those damn things back then. Lol.

To the OP - love the CW Store Card.

store card die #1372

Says 1861-1865, but almost certainly 1863.

Congrats on a cool one

Great assortment of finds, liking the token/store card that's a real nice recovery.
