Went to a local swimming hole at dawn this morning for a couple of hours. It has a nice sand beach and a little patch of grass and the whole spot can be hunted in two mornings. Have only found 1 silver ring in the 4 years that I have gone there. Well today I scored. I am really hoping to find the owner but the only chance I have is a flyer at the lifeguard station.
I was hunting the patch of grass and had picked up some random change and some pulls. Got a "crusty penny" signal that turned out to be a chunk of can slag. Checked the hole like you are supposed to and got a similar signal and a smaller chunk of can slag. Check again and another signal... this time out comes the monster.
ALWAYS DIG EVERYTHING!!! It's good to be reminded of that every now and then.
Happy hunting!

Nice ring - not just because 13g - cool bad @ss lion!!!!!

Congrats!!!!
Everyone remember when these were the thing? I am one of the youngest of 6 boys. Tradition was for each boy to receive a Lion Head ring for High School Graduation. By the time I graduated they could not be found for sale and my parents had one made. I hear it cost a fortune. My younger brother (Youngest) Did not get or want one because they were "Dumb"
The 4 oldest Brothers have this ring Ruby eyes and a Diamond in the Jaw. (Brother Mark's was stolen) Mine has three Emeralds (Probably cheaper than the Diamond) Little Brother Now wants one. He was left out :) Very Nice find!

Nice lion's head ring. That looks like an older one. I have one I wear with diamonds in the eyes and mouth. I haven't seen one with ruby eyes in a long time. Congrats.

I guess I'll break the " I dig it all" trend, ...............I only dig it all in the right places, like my signature says below..Effort
