That's one beauty of a penny for sure. Wonderful even green patina and pretty crust free unlike many we see dug. I'd be happy as a clam with that one mate. SWEET!
That is in a lot more than pretty good condition. Excellent condition will be more like it for something that's been in the ground that long. Nice and green
Yes, I was pretty surprised at its condition. I wiped my finger across the face of it and the date was visible right away. This this the third early coin I've found at this spot.
Keep hitting that spot Fullstock. Ive been working a farm house since november and i keep pulling stuff out. Got a lc that looked just like yours a few weeks back. 1851. We either have similar ground or the lc's around that time were made especially well. A couple months before that i found a 1864 2 cent piece within twenty feet. Beautiful largie!
