I was scanning my 1865 map and a spot on the map i always wondered about was calling my name. I didn't know how far it would be but i was sure on google earth i knew where to go. I let the wife know where i was heading so if i disappear she would know where to send the search party. Haha
Anyway after around 45 minute fast walk i found the cellar hole. A lot of the field was grown in but luckily there was some nice woods to hunt as well. In the end i found 2 pocket knives, a medical alert, a buckle, a clover heel plate, 2 buttons, 4 silver dimes (1957,1959,1961,1961), 1861 nova scotia half cent & one cent, 1832 nova scotia half penny token,1871 pei one cent and a huge 1843 New Brunswick one penny token. Maybe the field in the spring will hold some finds because the woods was pretty hard on the coppers. I think my favourite find of the day was a 1812 RN master button that cleaned up pretty well with some lemon juice. There was a nice amount of gilt still on it. Thanks for looking! [emoji2]

Is the name on that map "Loner"? Lol

I really like that heel plate. Haven't seen a clover one before. Also that's a wonderful master button and 1/2p

Nice going on the heel plate. The term "clover" has me thinking as I always have thought them to be a "club" as there are the "Heart" shaped ones also.
Great looking button as well it has some really nice detail to it still. Well done on finding the cellar hole, sometimes walking for that length of time one starts to wonder if it was missed or plug along some more.

Thanks. Heel plates as far as i know were nailed to the heel of old shoes to protect them from wear. Kinda like a horse shoe on a horse. There was also toe plates for shoes too! [emoji2]

Great looking button! And you stopped cleaning at the right time to keep the green on the anchors.

I dug a real one many years ago and wonder if I'll get another. IH dug a cuff last year.
