Baltimore Parks once again open up for detecting, Indians, Wheats, Buffs & Marbles

September is the beginning of the metal detecting season in Baltimore City parks, These are the results of first 2 hunts, A total of 3 IHPs 1886, 1901, 1907. Three Wheat Cents 1920, 1947, 1956. Followed by two Buffalos 1920 & 1923, a sole early Jefferson 1946. A Small iron skeleton key, and finally 5 marbles, 3 of them from the same hole. Hope this season encounters silver in many forms. Good luck to all.

Most city parks are old, so Indians do show up regularly.

My oldest coin in the city was an 1865 Indian. Was in good shape, however I don't particularly like going down there. Have plenty of rural places to dig.

Yes the city can be messy at times, my usual hunts are at first light, not much going on that early, i belive my oldest coin from a city park is a 1846 large cent.

Very nice park haul. I enjoy the challenge of a city park, especially good for honing skills. Congrats !!

Yes we get to detect 10 months a year on most parks, some are completely off limits.
