Spent the day out with my wife and daughter enjoying the nice weather and trying to score some good finds. The first site produced 1 dropped bullet and 2 horse shoes, the second site was a bust until we were about to come home, then i got on the 1864 indian head penny, the face is very worn but the date is readable. Unsure if or how to tell if its a key date "L" indian head.

The patina on that Indian looks like that of a fatty (different copper/nickel composition of the later 1864-1909 Indians)
Compare the thickness of that Indian with a later one cent coin. I'm thinking fatty Indian....
Congrats on a day with the family and the finds!
