Morning hunt in the woods with "jamie1993" started out with a piece of a harmonica reed.

Not long after this I got a wheat cent - 1934

We made it close to the ridgeline and I proceeded up to the top; the area had been logged in the last couple years and wasn't easy to detect but a banging signal turned our to be an Iphone6; I cleaned it and now have it in a bag of rice and will attempt to charge it later in the week.

We called that hunt to the an end and Jamie headed home and I went to another site.
I tried a few spots and then walked a line across the field and got a mid-tone, a solid 50, sort of loud.
Well, I had dug a number of pull tabs already, but this was not a pull tab.
Turned out to be a 14KT wedding band.

You know what that looks like: shotgun shells, bottle caps, pull tabs and wire....we all dig it but I only save the lead, copper and brass.

I really enjoy reading and seeing that more and more Tnet members are hunting together. Were you running on gut feeling at the last site? Congrats on pulling that gold wedding band. Always better to dig the real deal in stead of a heart breaker.

Hey LD. Yes, it was a hunch. The hunting with other detectorists has been more of what I'm doing over the past 6 months.
Good to hear from you!

GOLD!
I have not found any in awhile, I think I'm due, lol Congrats on your finds, sometimes I'll include all the trash in a group pic or two. You probably feel like I that the trash makes those treasure look bad in a pic like that. I for sure contribute to trash removal in my area, that has been my struggle and why I have not been detecting as much as I used to. Some days garbage and trash is all I find and I might get a string of three or four hunts like that. Makes it feel like work and not fun anymore. It's all about perspective, my perspective needs adjusting from time to time.

Nice finds! I've been relic hunting for 2 1/2 years now and I'm still surprised by the number of harmonicas that have been lost. Gold rings will get your heart beating faster!

Mike,
Nice way to end the day. A gold ring will definitely make up for the trash we dug. Congrats on your ring, you were well over due for one. Hopefully we can hook up this weekend again for another thrilling day. My legs are still sore from the hike we took into the woods.

Thx Jamie! Yes, gold is special. I may hit HR on Wed. for a couple hours. Those test holes have me stumped.

Thx ATW! I didn't expect to see gold. Will post later about the iPhone, if it boots and if I'm able to discover the owner.

Thx Dan! I have transitioned over the last year to more relic hunting. One big advantage I see to field and forest is LESS TRASH, unless you run into an iron field but that means people were there; better than pull tabs and bottle caps! That portable musical instrument, the harmonica, must have been a popular personal item for soldier as well as working man.
