I followed some advice that many of you gave me and have been asking for permissions. There’s a huge convention center down the road from me where they are always having all kinds of festivals and carnivals. I don’t know if there used to be something else in the past. Well I took a chance and called them today and they said I was welcome to come out and detect on the property. It’s 12 acres and the lady I spoke to said that as long as she’s run the convention center nobody has ever been out there detecting. She said she’s been out there 8 years!! Hopefully I’ll have something to post this weekend. Wish me luck buddies!! Take care.

Look at some old aerial /photo maps or search for any aerial photos of the festivals of years past.
That will help you narrow down where the people congregated. It could save you a ton of time.
12 acres is a lot

Here is a good start. GIS Mapping System | La Porte, TX - Official Website

Good luck I hope you hit it out of the ball park. let us know.

Cheers :occasion14:

I know the area where they have the festivals. I’ve been to a few of them. The good thing is that part of the area has been turned up because it looks like they might be building something there in the future. So hopefully whatever is under the ground will be closer to the top!! Thanks for the advice my friend. Take care.

Back when wrong was wrong and right was right!

This new political correctness our society is expressing reminds me of this:

The Bible not only tells us what society will be like in the end times, but it also gives us instruction to stay as clear of the mess as possible and that God will take care of the rest:

What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter. What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever. What sorrow for those who are heroes at drinking wine and boast about all the alcohol they can hold. They take bribes to let the wicked go free, and they punish the innocent. Therefore, just as fire licks up stubble and dry grass shrivels in the flame, so their roots will rot and their flowers wither. For they have rejected the law of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies; they have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 5:20-24

I'm not sure if you know it or not but you have another huge opportunity on your hands.

Assuming you find enough finds from that site to make a small display you can suggest to the owner that you have a free pitch at one of the festivals and carnivals to display your local finds including those from their site.
We do displays & historical talks for free & what tends to happen is those that are interested ask us to do their land. It means the permissions come to you, with little effort.
