Couldn't wait to go out detecting so I went out for about an hour the ground was still frozen so it made for hard digging didn't find much just this Buckle or latch looks more like a latch to me and a couple of head stamps

Yes, it's better to go out and not get much, than to sit and play on the internet all day. I also think that is a latch of some sort. The ground is thawed here, I was out today and got three colonial items, nothing to brag about though.
