Nice finds! That Old Dad / Meridian token is from Meridian, Idaho. James C. Basor was born in Ohio and served in the Civil War in Company K of the 19th Ohio Infantry. He moved to Bureau County, IL after the war, married, and was shown in 1880 as having the occupation, "Repairs Tellegraphs". In the late 1890s he moved to a farm near Meridian. After selling his farm in 1904, he had a pool room, confectionery, and cigar store from 1905 to 1912. His wife died in late 1911 so he sold out in early 1912 and moved to Illinois to live with his two daughters there. Unfortunately, his life ended in February 1913 when he was walking across the railroad tracks in Bureau, IL, going to his home from a store in town at about 9 o'clock in the evening. A Rock Island Railroad locomotive struck and killed him - apparently he neither heard nor saw the engine.

Thank you so much for this post and information. We have searched extensively throughout our area trying to locate where this token originated. I was able to find and purchase Al Erickson's book "Washington State Trade Tokens", and was discouraged to not find the token listed in it. I found the token near a pair of vintage gold plated cuff links and another unreadable token.
