Swedish coat of arms bronze stamp (?) found in the middle of the woods.

Found this today. It has the swedish coat of arms on it. It appears to be bronze or something because it has not corroded like iron does. Was maybe 8 inches down. It is quite heavy!

Would really appreciate some help with identifying this bad boys age and use? Some people at the swedish forum says it was used for minting something? Or stamping official letters (found a matching pic from 1716. I have a feeling this find could be very rare.

Stamping official documents (or even books?) might seem reasonable. Seems awfully large for letters, much less wax-seals.
The context of the one reference you found might aid in identifying the use of such a stamp. What kind of document was it?
A wild guess (i.e. hunch) would place it around 1500-1700's.

Get in touch with historiska museet and ask, along with some pictures and measurements.

It looks like typeset to me! Basically its what they used with old printing presses. Most typeset you see is letters and numbers but it is also how images were printed. Very cool!

I don't know your Coat of Arms, did the crowns change like ours?

I would have guessed 19th C myself.
