Got a matching headline to Cru's yesterdays post: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/575234-morning-garden-dig.html
Funny how we europeans do similar things when the options are down till harvest time....
I was invited to visit the site a roman castell once stood. I did not made pics of the garden because in fact the dig was in an area with lots of rubbish behind the farm. No need to cover everything nicely.
Looks like i hit part of a garbage pit or ditch where the romans disposed kitchen waste.
Lots of bones, animal teeth, bulls horns
Pottery with black ware, samian and white pottery
A couple looks like matching, thats why i took them home
And they did, nice roman pot
Another interesting find was this millstone fragment. It was milled both sides and broke when the first side was still in use. You can see the worn curved grooves on this pic. Millstones were remilled a couple times before discarded.
This is the other side. You can see how flat this side was and how well made the grooves are.
