Hi all, after work I did some door knocking which I hate but it goes with the hobby.
I knocked on one old property and no one was home. A neighbor came out and said their still at work . I asked her if I could hunt her place and she said sure have at it.
She said the house was built in 1921 and has not been hunted to her knowledge. That's what an MDer loves to hear!
Well this yard was full of modern pennies.. I am new to the equinox so pretty much dug everything. To my surprise a post Civil War eagle button came out of the ground at about 4 inches. A couple more holes and a nice 1891 indian turned up.
The only other decent coin was a 1938 wheaty.
Going to try again in a few days. I think the equinox is going to be a keeper but not sure if it will replace my etrac just yet. 20180416_153219.jpg 20180416_153226.jpg 20180416_184324.jpg

I’m taking notes on how well the equinox’s are doing and so far they are kicking ass. Some nice keepers there. Congrats!

I too struggle with the door knocking art. One problem I have is that either the old houses are far off the road (dogs), or so rough that I'm afraid of who might answer the door.

We also have some homes that date back to the 1880's but I'm having some difficulty finding the owners. They are usually in trust funds and finding where the owner of the trust is not easy.

Hoping with warmer weather I will see more people outdoors to ask.

My wife thinks I'm crazy. "Hey I notice your house is old can I did holes in your yard" :laughing7:

" I usually only find junk but if I don't I'm keeping it"

Great finds though!

Hey, nice job! I hear you on the door knocking, not always the most fun having people look at you like a total weirdo but I find most people end up being pretty decent after seeing our enthusiasm!
