Buckles...question

OK I have got to ask.Whats with ALL the Buckles everyone is finding ? Did they all have a problem keeping them secured ? Yikes

Depending on the period, people used to wear lots of buckles back then. Also, the same clothes and shoes were used for a much longer period than today. So the material they were made from would become much more fragile with time. And yes, many buckles were used on horses and other farm animals.
