Found this crock in the middle of nowhere ! There was a tree that was up rooted and exposed a bottle dump she was sitting on the surface. That's terrific. My limited knowledge tells me it could be late 19th century. I always detect around fallen trees but have never found much. You got a good one!

those crocks were used up to the 1940's for food storage before the country was electrified...lots of (every) farm used them daily, of all sizes.

so the crock is at least as old as the tree. what kind of tree is it ? lets ask the tree experts ? cool !
