Metal printing plate - early 1900s?

I found this yesterday afternoon when digging an old bar/post office site - looked around online but couldn’t find anything to help me learn about it. Can anyone recommend a resource (other than Google) to research the history on items like this?

I’m guessing it was early 1900s based on two late 1860s silver finds from the same location last month. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks! I went back there twice looking for the rest of the plate, but no luck. Still one of the neatest relics I have found all year.
