Miricles still happen!!
I Made time to visit the museum today with my collection of recent (2 year) favorite rock finds.
Gobsmacket to find out I have a 12.4 gram ET planetary piece of basalt or extremely rare chrondule free stone meteorite!
Within minutes we had nearly all the staff of the museum buzzing for a quick look as I was became nauseous and dizzy haha. They asked for a couple of gram chip so they can’t finalize testing on Friday? You would Think they could have made room today?
I couldn’t say yes to chipping it as it’s already very small so I agreed to return with the whole stone this following Monday for its true ID, Achondrite or lunar/Martian?
They asked if I would be willing to go public Because it would only be the second lunar/mars found on the Australian contenent to which the media may intrude on, I agreed that is ok, If so I’ll be sure to name drop Treasurenet.com becoming the catylist for me to make the 2 hour each way drive! Otherwise it could of been another just forgotten pebble in the garage.
Thankyou all. :occasion14: Here’s some more pics below. I’ll be sure to post the final results as soon as I find out.

Thanks digger kid, adrenaline still pumping! If it’s over $25,000 I’d have to let it go.
Your quote says it all “never stop hunting” and looking. It would have been unknowingly stepped over hundreds of times

Thank you!
This is actually the first meteorite I’ve found, Iv been scanning and collecting rocks and fossils for over 5 years now, I love geology. It definitely can pay off like today, but truth be said I would have collected a big paint buckets of meterong’s since having a semi well trained eye. :tongue3:
