gold necklace found,woods hunting again

went to a wooded area i have detected before.i was going to climb over a big log when i noticed gold .i had to dig the roots away to get it out.its says senior 1988 w c .back says jostens.i couldnt find any gold markings.is it real gold?minnesota hunter,rodgerdodger.h.h.

Dern toot'in it's gold! Jostens is the company that made my class ring in 1973. That's their niche. Of course you realize I was 12 when I graduated high school, you see I was very advanced!

I have one just like it and it is from Jostens, it is a senior pendant and mine is 10K gold as is the chain, but I do seem to recall that you could get a plated version. Mine is from 1983 so maybe they had changed things at that point. If you don't mind, what state did you find it in? I am in Tennessee and those are my school colors as well...small world.
