I’m thinking it has to be a coin because of the fancy still around the edge but I’m seeing nothing except maybe some 9’s on the back. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1532038196.077015.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1532038241.441888.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1532038330.460934.jpg

Are those "9's" indented or on the surface? All coins that i know of don't have recessed numbers, writing, or pictures.

Your find is probably a tool check tag, and would have been manufactured by a brass novelty works. The same brass planchets were used for trade tokens and tool checks, etc. The integrally stamped numbers is called "incuse". It probably dates to the 1870s at the earliest, and maybe no later than WW I.

I’d think it’s a tool check tag due to the hole. But it also could be a pickers check, what farm owners would pay employees so that they could buy products at the farm’s store.
