That’s right folks I found someone’s 2 front teeth so they need something for Christmas. I have found teeth before, some gold, some enamel with stainless steel, but these were set in 18k gold. All the gold dental work I have found before was in 10k and when I was testing I couldn’t believe it when it tested positive for 14k and then 18k. I was thinking maybe there was some new metal that resisted the acid test. But I tested again and it is definitely 18k.
Yesterday I went to the park swimming area I did in May with fantastic results in gold and silver jewelry. The water is still down because of the work on the dam and with all the rain we had the park usage was not what it usually is, but I figured I might get luck so I gave it a try. The park is 90 miles from home so my wife went along and we made a day of it, me detecting while she walked around the park and sat knitting Christmas gifts. At the end of the day I took her out for a nice dinner.
The water level was lower than it was in the spring, not because of the dam but from the sand washed into the swimming area by the heavy rains we have been having. Most of the water was only about 8 inches deep with some parts about knee deep. The first couple of hours were not great a few coins and lots of earring backs and junky earrings (one quarter was down about 16 inches, unusually deep for this park). I was ready to call it quits, but I kept at it and I am glad I did. I was there for 8 hours and the last hour and a half produced most of th silver and all of the gold. I finished the day with 19 coins face value of $1.78, one set of teeth set in 18k gold, 5 silver earrings, 4 silver earring backs, 2 14k earrings, 2 stainless earrings, 15 cheapy earrings, 27 not silver earring backs, 2 beads, both halves of a belly button ring (parts found about 7 feet apart), 2 pellet gun pellets, 6 sinkers, 10 tabs and pieces of tabs, 24 misc items like sequins and shoe grommets and some bits of the ever present foil from food wrappers.
It was a lot of work for me and my AT pro, but finding the gold and silver made it a lot of fun. I went home tired, but very happy.
Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.
