I have been busy and have not been able to get out for a week. I was almost in detector withdrawal. So I got out to the campus today and was able to swing my CZ 21 for 4 hours and I managed 154 coins with a face value of $9.21. I also found a modern house key, an aluminum helmet pendant marked HONGKONG, 2 junky pins, a post office box key, a silver ring, a 10k class ring, a copper knot ring and a 1958 silver dime.
The silver ring has an Uncas mark with STERLING inside. It had a cheapy stone at one time, but it was not with the ring in the ground.
The class ring is a 1980 class ring marked DESIGNER AC 10k. There are no initials in the ring, but it does have a name on the outside. The school is local where I was the assistant principal 18 years ago. It was a k-12 school and had small graduating classes so there was probably only one young woman with that name so I should be able to get an ID. The tough part will be finding someone who might know what her married name is and then tracker her down. This is the second class ring for the campus. The first one had the year worn off, but it did have initials. A woman at the school, a medium sized private military academy, is using pictures I sent her to try and get an idea of the year and get an ID from the initials. She has been very helpful, something you don’t usually find in the public schools. If I can return them they will be number 13 and 14. Wish me luck, I will need it.
I had a much better than average day today. Goodies, a nice coin count, and not much trash.
