When swung for a little bit until my Wife called me up and told me her battery was dead so you know I had to go save the day. But this is what I ended up with a sterling religious medallion two silver plated spoons in something. It was hitting had a solid 16 every once in a while flipping 17 and my tokens were coming in at 17 so I just dug it anyway I’m glad I did what it is I don’t know I don’t think it’s that old. Last but not least a shot musketball. IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG

Say Truth, very nice finds!

What's your take on the badge? Is that a fixed mount cannon at the top? Perhaps a Naval gun. I first thought the round objects were bunches of grape but apparently cannon balls? Do you have a clue of how it was mounted or pinned on?. Hat emblem?

Cool finds. I looked up the medallion...it's a St. Benedict medal. He was the founder of Benedictine Monks. The medal is used to ward off diabolical influences, witchcraft, poison, disease, temptation. The letters front and back stand for Latin prayers of exorcism. Any Catholic here could probably give you more info on it.

Sounds like that amulet is a pretty powerful talisman too! Maybe Marie Laveau got after him! LOL What about that old fortress you hunt now and again? Were there parapets and fixed guns there?

Wow! That could either be Spanish, French, British or American.

Are you talking about the Fort? Yes I’ve seen old pictures when they where there.

And boy that Marie Laveau was something else. She had a bad side you know lol
