Holy Moly!
Got me a sweet permission, been drooling over this place for years.... shooting for coins, got 5 wheats, and a 17-S Merc:headbang:

Took a while, but I found the old clothesline.... then this beauty pops out.

At first, I just found the bottom half, eyesight not so good, but realized the holes meant there was maybe more to the story.
Same hole, but deeper, I fished out the top half..... and in great shape!

So from 1910 to 1919 the US and Mexico were going at it, and President Wilson called in the National Guard..... this one is from Georgia, I’ve found images from other states, but not this one,

Also scored a 1955 Dog Tag, and this other pin.... it’s got a fleur di lis on it.... and some Latin writing on the bottom that I can’t makeout.
I’ve seen this pin before, but can’t remember what it is....any help?

Finally, got me a St. Christopher Medallion, it’s prolly from the 1940’s, based on the reverse images.

Thanks for looking.:hello:

Cool medal. Looks like the Mexico medal is bronze but they cheaped out and used pot metal rings...which dissolved away. Glad you found both pieces. Gary

Great WW1 era finds Dave. Persistence finally pays off. It's good to know the National Guard and the US Army was helping out in the border towns 100 years ago. Political correctness didn't exist back then, so I'm sure they were defending them 'nicely', with force when necessary. About the Mexican border wars...
