Today's objective was simple, try for a couple of hammered. The area I decided to grid was found on the day I found that stunning Groat. I made a mental note for when all our better options were done. We are getting towards the lesser target fields & today's risk paid off much better than we could of hoped for!
For those UKer's new to the hobby, look at all the Lead we dug.(Picture 2) Remember NO LEAD=NO ACTIVITY (It's one of our base indicators)
We found the site of a Medieval house, not where the records thought they were.
This field used to be detected before us but I'm pretty sure they were off the mark - up by the Church on the hill. Instead of on the lower ground where the soil is pretty sandy.
5 Hours gridding produced;

3 Late Medieval Cauldron Feet
2 Crotal Bells (still ring)
Couple of Jetton
Pierced Roman Coin (Done in the Saxon period)
Medieval & later Buckles
Square Medieval Horse Harness Pendant
Roman Hob-Nail
Broken Will III Sixpence
6 Hammered:

  • Henry III Sterling Imitation Cut Halfpenny Circa 1240 (A first!)
  • Edward III Farthing Circa 1340
  • Venetian Soldino Circa 1415 (Known as a 'Galley Halfpenny' after the Galley that came every year full of them. The coins were lent to bankers/businessmen & circulated illegally as Halfpennies)
  • Lizzy I Halfgroat Circa 1580
  • Charles I Penny Circa 1630
  • Commonwealth Halfgroat Circa 1650

A wowza hunt! I like your days with medieval silver. So rare here. The Charles I Penny looks like a love token, did that practice started that early?

btw. what a bunch of lead. Did you stopped in between to pile that weight at the corner of the field?

Hi Crusader. After you insulted my gold coin ,heres on you Pile of chewed up bottle tops with no even enough silver in them to make a Vicky Shilling . 10.000 roman stuffed coins are worth nothing. If you would to friendly comp on gem stones and gold nuggets no worries. TP hahahaha

I also love to find lead, sometimes in England and Holland the find is a great one too. And there are also always older finds then. Great search!
