I understand that these can be somewhat valuable, so before I attempt to clean this, should I leave it, or attempt to clean it? I cannot find this token anywhere online, just the 1 ration.

I know where it came from and what it says, as I posted that information above the pictures. That wasn't the question I was asking.

I think you were asking about cleaning it? It appears to be aluminum and you might recover some more details with lemon juice soaking and some light brushing. I don't know what would be best, to leave it as is or try to clean it up a little more. Good luck either way.

Yes, I did post it, as you can see from the screen shot below and I highlighted the info. Not rying to be a smart ass, just found it odd that what I wrote was being repeated. Are you guys not seeing this text above the images?

It appears my understanding on the English language is not what I though it was.

- My question was "I understand that these can be somewhat valuable, so before I attempt to clean this, should I leave it, or attempt to clean it?"
- You then replied with an Identification of the token.
- I then replied it was Fort Greble, and not Fort Green as you mentioned.
- You then posted that I am 100% correct in the ID.
- I replied with Yes, I know what the token says,as I posted that information with the pictures. That's not what my question was.
- Another member posted I did not state what the token said.
- I post a screenshot of what I see, stating I'm not trying to be a smart ass and ask if everyone is seeing the same thing I see.
- I have an attitude

Am I on a different planet here? If your not seeing what I posted, then I can understand why people would try to identify the token. Otherwise, I'll have to rethink how I ask a question on this forum.

Sorry ! Not sure why Things turned South :(

Nice Token !

To the right People It would have some Value.
But Sorry I Can't help with that part.

Like all Tokens, I Don't see where Light Cleaning can hurt.
But I Suppose it's all Relative. Professional Buyers will find something wrong with
them Cleaned or Not, Just to drive their Buying Price down. or at at least try to.

It all comes to How many Want it after seeing it & How Badly.

in other words Cleaned or Not it takes at least 2 that want it, to drive the Price up.

Anyway Nice Token :coffee2:

Don't Over Do the Cleaning , you should be ok

It appears to be aluminum. If it were mine, I would just water it off and clean lightly with a toothbrush. Nice "Good For" token.

Congrats on the token! :occasion14:

IMHO: I would clean it with a dry toothbrush and display. I have found many aluminum tokens many in worse shape than yours and this method preserves what's left.
