It's been tough diggin' here in Maine so far this spring. The ground is either still frozen or really mucky. The first thing I did was break my T-handle spade prying up the frost. :censored: Then I got kicked out of what I thought was a public park but turns out to be privately owned (The sign said "Grounds open to the public"). So I drove over to Bangor to see what I could find in an old park that has produced for me in the past. There was a bit of dry ground there and I got a deep, "iffy" signal on the CTX 3030. Down about 12" I found a lead hem weight and a WWI era French pendant. "Protegez Nos Chers Soldats" translates to Protect Our Dear Soldiers. IMG_20190418_171746111_PORTRAIT.jpg s-l300.jpg

There wasn't a whole lot of diggable real estate available so I decided to investigate every signal and it paid off! Found a 1920 Merc stuck to a toasted V nickel. IMG_20190418_171638260_PORTRAIT.jpg IMG_20190418_171707555_PORTRAIT.jpg

Next was a 1903 Barber dime next to a nail. IMG_20190418_140550619.jpg

Finally, another Barber in the hole with a "hot rock". IMG_20190418_143154499.jpg

So all in all, it was a pretty good day. Thanks for looking and HH!

That turned out to be a good day gotta be glad you got tossed out of that park. Some people are ignorant to our hobby though they will let dogs pee all over a tear up the park more than we ever would.lol That pendant is really cool and grats on the silver and turning your day around. Tommy

Thanks, Tommy. Kinda bummed about that park though. There was a lot of ground to cover! I could tell that somebody had already been there digging so I figured it was OK. I guess not... :(

Wow look at the condition of the 1920 merc ! Silver has so much more integrity in the ground than nickel ! Nicely done .
