Continued on with the Mega-grid today & because of the shape of the field it was now taking us 45 minutes every run!
We have now joined up the 2 gridding area of the mega-grid & will move on. To an area that has short runs & we have gridded at least once before.(so we will see how that works out)
Today we did 5.5 hrs with more good results;

8 Roman Coins
1855-81 83rd Reg of Foot (County of Dublin) Button
Tudor Button
Unknown Military Button?
Scrap Gold
Jetton
Broken Lizzy 3 Pence 157?
William the Lion Scottish Cut halfpenny 1195-1205, Roxburgh Mint - (one I need)
1892 Barber - A first, & somewhat confused me for a second, whilst it was dirty I was thinking too small for a sixpence, not quite a 3 pence:icon_scratch: Wiped clean the ONE DIME side...ohhh...:laughing7:

Yeap, realised that when I googled it, when I first dug it I thought it was a 1902.

What an interesting array of finds ! The Barber is way out of context - what do you reckon the gold was from ? Is the Karat mark visible ?

Always said, you can expect 'everything' in a field, hard to explain some clues.

Two silver coins. The first named only by a King who among other things tried to fight back the Normans, and the other named after the coin engraver. 700 years and much contrast.

Nice digs Cru

Great finds as usual! That Barber sure is unexpected. Although I'm in Canada I have never found one of that type. I actually found my first US silver in Europe a few years back at a 1600's site...so go figure.
