I’ve been traveling a lot for work on the weekends, so just trying the 6” coil at cellar holes that have not been very productive. Here are the results from the last couple hunts.

Best V Nickel ever, for me at least...

Here is the handful.

And an ornate double gas valve fixture (sounded like a really loud penny)

Good luck out there!

Thx! I’ve only found 4 or 5 other V’s and each one was barely ID’able with maybe an outline of the bust or the “V”. Fun to finally see what one is suppose to look like, at least the reverse side.

Thx! Not the cool old stuff you’ve been getting into lately, but not expecting too much at sites I have hit with a couple detectors already.

Really nice V nickel. They are usually reddish and corroded. I have only ever hunted one place where they came out silvery like that. It was the front of an old church in WV that gave up several silvery V nickels.

Two staples of the cellar hole...a harmonica reed and a D buckle!:laughing7: The collection is looking great Pac-Man! And that V-nickel? Best “out of the ground” V ever dug I’ve seen. Are you digging in styrofoam?? What a prize! I’m glad you’re making use of the 6” coil, THAT type of hunting is what it excels at...at least from my limited cellar experience. Congrats on the finds!

Thx! Finding lots of D buckles make sense. I figure these are all from working horse tack. But the plethora of harmonica reeds always makes me wonder.
