Found my first Mercury dime today and couldn't be happier! I keep seeing on the posts here that talk about digging a jumpy signal that results in silver. That is exactly what happened. I had a real jumpy signal on my AT Pro and decided to dig it. Out pops a shiny coin. I turn it over and there she is!

I had a hit similar hit not long ago with the at pro. It ended up being a spill with three nickels masking a couple of wheats and a rosie. They were spread out 6 to 8 inches. Did you re scan over the spot or do yo have a pinpointer to clean up any addl targets in the hole?
You know a LOT of 40's signals are nickels.
Again, congratulations and dig more iffy signals and you will be surprised.

Congratulations on finding your first Mercury dime. You might consider purchasing the sniper coil for your AT Pro. I had one when I owned the machine and the treasure jumped out of the trash like you read about!

Congratulations! I watched my buddy dig his first one and thought I was going to witness a 270 lb man to cartwheels.

Very cool...congrats friend!!:occasion14: When you go back to take a chance and dig some of those "jumpy" and "iffy" signals...you will probably dig some junk. However, you will also have a decent chance of popping out another silver from that bouncy signal.:headbang: Go for it! I've found some of my best old silvers from taking a chance on crap signals. I've also found more that a few rusty nails doing so. :laughing7: Again, congrats on your first, and I hope you find many more.
