Pebble Head day three, Roman bronze, Celtic bronze, stone age flint

[Westfront]

Another after work hunt on the pebble field. 1.5hrs in cold but sunny weather. The soil dried up a bit and it was way better walking as the last outings. Results were great with finds spanning 7000years.

Fresh off the ground! Roman key

A lot of lead to dig....

Very little modern stuff, the lead plug could be roman too.

Probably the best find of the day are these fragments of neolithic pottery, dating at least 5000BC.

I first thought it was silver because of the good condition. Bronzes come rarely in this shape. Can be because the pepple head drains better than the soil we usually have.

Great finds, Westfront...I’m just trying to wrap my head around a 7000 year old relic...I mean, I freak out over any coin I dig that’s more than 150 years old. Awesome stuff..keep posting those old, OLD relics. Ddf.

This part has quite some slope to the creek. My guess is erosion helped to bring an neolithic settlement place up.

You can't recognice well in the picture, it's conical shaped on one side and flat on the other. You can almost say without these lead plugs you don't have an ancient setting.
