14 bullets, an old pocket knife, some cool bottles, and I think a rations token from the depression!
The past two weekend have been the biggest bullet hauls we’ve had! I believe the 2 ring bullet is CW? It was dug on the side of a steep hill. The “dirt” was black sand. Totally weird. The ground at the bottom of this hills was hard clay, but I’ve never seen this black sand before.

Also randomly found this poking out from a tree ??? Looked like a spot where a house possibly was up one of the hills. But it wasn’t nailed or strung up. Just....sticking out.

Wish we’d have another chance at this property, but I’m happy with the two opportunities we did have and the bullets we were able to find!

From the LOOKS of it, the bullet is a Merrill carbine bullet from the CW. Nice haul for sure.

I’m no expert and I hate to disagree with smokeythecat, but I think the 2 ring bullet is a burnside carbine round. The Merrill actually has 3 rings if I’m not mistaken.

Looks like you had a great hunt and a lot of fun. I would hate to say goodbye to a permission like that myself. Congratulations and keep swingin.

Thanks!!! If it helps, the base of the 2 ringer is flat, not concave like a 3 ringer. I think we cleaned out that spot pretty well though! All but 2 of the bullets were concentrated to one small area. Figured there’d be more stuff on the sides of the hills, especially behind where the bullets were, but nothing. I’m sure the area has been hit before.

Thanks everyone!

Yea the rock was a strange one but I really liked it!

The only reason I somewhat knew what the token was is bc a family friend showed me his coin collection and he had 2 of them. Gotta figure out how to clean it. His were in better shape. CE5BEBC5-C1BF-4378-AE80-FBEF29B8D0C9.jpeg

We’ve been going pretty hard every weekend since about mid December since the weather has been nice every weekend! Taking a day of rest today to clean house and boil some shrimp!
