Howdy all,
Got out yesterday and today to the baseball field/Texas Frontier Fort. Got a bunch more bullets, buttons and assorted relics. Also got a nice 1858 O half dime. This is my first New Orleans mint. Coupled with my first CC mint and my first Bust silver from the same site a few weeks ago, I feel like I'm on a roll! First pic is yesterday's finds. Second pic is today's. Some new GS buttons, both the early versions and some eagle I's. The gilted chicken eagle button turned out quite nice. Shame its post civil war. Thought I had a good one at first. Also got a nice lead canteen spout and the first colt army dragoon bullet out of here. Also found a War nickel and because it looked familiar to one I found last time I was here, I pulled the old find out, and what do you know? Silver too. Brings the silver count to 21 FTY. Also got about a half dozen or so wheat pennies today.
This may be my last visit to the Fort for a while. Looks like I'm headed to Florida next week and will be there about a month. I'm keen to do some beach hunting. Might even try some shark tooth hunting. Anyone in the Tampa area?
Thanks for looking,
