I’ve attempted to find a dot that appears deep in the park woods only on the 1862 and 1872 maps, not on the 1850 map and gone by the 1908 map. 2 other attempts at reaching the spot were blocked by dangerous steep ravines and jungle. Finally found a route that was quickly hike’able. Here was my lunch hour picnic spot...

First coin on the path near the dot.

Then a cool open work flat button.

A couple early 1800 large coat buttons.

And finally a 28-29 signal.

I found 32 large cents before my first Draped Bust last month, excited to add #2.

Here’s the quick lunch hour handful.

And the best find of the day was early this morning.

For the last 6 months at 5am a weak alarm went off for 60 seconds. I finally figured out it was between the mattress and headboard. My daughters lost watch...

Good luck out there!

Congrats on the DB and other finds. I have found lots of later large cents and earlier British coppers but the Draped Bust and earlier US ones are very elusive for me.

Very awesome finds, how did you restore the Indian or did she just come out that nice after a wipe down?

Thx! I used Andres pencils to remove the dirt / crust from the IHP and a little olive oil to keep her from drying out.

Nice work Thad  Looking forward to see what you get out of that place.
The "open work" button looks very strange. Are sure the holes were not caused by corrosion? Also, what is the bar shaped thing on the face of the button?

Thx Steve! I’m pretty sure the bar on the button has letters on it. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1582298897.426154.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1582298908.495203.jpg My opinion when cleaning it is that a portion of the button was open work, but it may have just been corrosion and thinner metal here. It’s a pretty sturdy button, Haven’t found a flatbutton like it. I’ve found more 2 piece floral buttons.

But there is a definite button shank on the back?
