Once I realized the brown blob wasn't part of it, it looks like antler to me.

Its encased in rock. I searched pics online and found several "similar". If it is bone or antler, im wondering if one end was cut? That would be interesting!

I would compare other fossilized none images you can find online. Some times you can use University collections. There is a good one in a science bldg. at Portland State University where I got a portion of my art degree

I agree it has the look of antler but the whole piece is kinda strange. By the way, welcome from North Carolina.

Definitely bone. Bone is porous and has marrow channels. Antler pieces are solid with no voids.

- it is strange but i found it in a remote desert area. I found a few lesser interesting things in the same location... 20200215_113232.jpg
