Was wandering some trails near me.. on an old farm property that is now crown land.
Looks like someone has been busy detecting and digging!!!!

They have failed however to fill their holes..sadly.. but maybe they are not done!

I see in the last photo a 1914-1917 Model T Ford cast iron muffler end and the remains of the top irons for a Model T below that. Looks like a great place to dig! The third photo of the bike forks are pre war 1930’s-1940 Elgin bicycle. Too bad the headset was cut off but still a good find if someone needs just the base. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1585674944.599794.jpg

It’d be nice to see it cleaned up or like you say at the very least fill the holes back in. How much can be done on crown land? Just wondering.

Well you can dig there, and remove things, but you are supposed to fill your holes. Looks like someone sorted all the bottles and metal and likely took anything cool.

GOing back to sort through them.

The more I research this little area (about 4 acres) was used as a gravel pit for a while, and then backfilled in.. likely with lots of garbage. There are 3-4 large piles of excavated bottles like that on the property, likely removed while looking for metal items of value etc...

Looking at the last photo again I just noticed that it looks like BOTH ends of the Model T muffler are there. Only noticed the one end at first glance, looking closer I can see the nut on the center rod that attaches the two ends together. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1585867905.776800.jpg Definitely worth picking up. A good set of cast iron 1916-17 Model T mufflers ends are worth about $40-50.

Pretty much everything I am finding is 50's....so likely the era that people dumped there. All the dump piles are UNDER trees, or around large trees.

Snagged a few neat bottles as well, nothing valuable but a cool old medicine bottle and a liquor bottle from early 50's.
