tres23.jpg A couple of weeks ago I was detecting in some woods near an old foundation and found a perfect Armstrong T.W. laying on the forest floor. Maybe not too old but it sparkles like pyrex and I doubt it was ever on a pole.

I seem to find insulators pretty much every time I go detecting or exploring. I found these at a yard sell last fall but haven’t been able to find anything out about them. They all link together like a chain. They look great hanging in my shop along with all the other stuff hanging in it! Here’s an image of the bracket and hook. They seem to be made specifically for these style insulators. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1585972120.707915.jpg

Eastender’s insulator appears to be the same as the ones I have but with an added glass ring. Never seen one like it, nice find!

Reminds me of a rain chain, but the hardware is oddly specific and vintage...bizarre.

I collected - bought - sold and traded insulators from all over the world for 10 years.
At one time I had insulators from (67) different countries - more than any other known collection in the world.
It's a great hobby and you sure do meet a lot of great people !

I sold my entire insulator collection when I got seriously involved in metal detecting 11 years ago.
I only have enough free time to be dedicated to one hobby.

Here's a photo of part of my old collection - Good Hunting !

Pretty cool hardware to utilize low voltage telegraph insulators in a suspension set-up to increase air gap for use on high voltage transmission lines. Very neat and innovative.

Never thought about collecting insulators but they are so cool I may have to start looking.
