Hello to you all!
I was able to get out for a nice hunt yesterday, the weather pretty decent for November in Michigan. I had a lot of fun and was very happy to get out there for sure. This time of year, each hunt could be the last of the season if winter sets in suddenly. Hopefully, we can a couple more weeks of TH'ing in.
I searched two schools near my work. One I had searched last summer and one not. I covered the woodchip play areas and a lot of the grassy areas too, the ones near the play areas and each had soccer fields. Next door to the second school was a park that had a volleyball court, so I hit that too and had a lot of nice finds from around it also.
If today was the last hunt of the season, I could be happy about it because I got two nice gold keepers and a sterling one too. My first keeper was at the first school, a sweet little gold loop earring hallmarked 750 (18kt) that also has a few gemstone beads on it. I went to the second school, and on my first dug signal, next to a bench by one of the play areas, I got a sweet gold ring. Wooowhooo! It's a 10k kids ring with a nice faceted garnet gemstone in the center of the design on the face of it. It's a little bent, but can be repaired. I found the silver ring, hallmarked 925, in the grassy area surrounding the volleyball court at the park. There were a lot of coins around there too including a 20 coin spill containing quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies all in a about a one feet area. Just before I was leaving for the day, I got a cool medallian. It's got a 1775 date on front and says "for military achievement" on back. It's a pretty cool kids keepsake from a museum or something? Here's some photos of my keepers.
........
It was a good day out there, lots of hard work, swinging, and digging, but well worth it. I almost found more quarters then pennies. Got to like that. (50 vs 77) so my face value for the day was a good one , $17.32 with 180 coins found.
I also found three junque rings along with the two keeper ones.
That puts me at 163 rings total for the season.
Other trinkets included 4 earrings, a few pendant/fob thingies, 4 little bell thingies, some hair barretts, and two foreign coins. A 1 cent Euro coin and a russian coin I think... a 1999 coin, smaller then a dime that says 10 Koneek.
I hope you all can get out a have fun too. Best of luck and HH!!
Thanks for reading. Here's some shots of all my finds for the day.
