Today was a little warmer & pretty muggy so it was not as nice as it has been. Although all the recent rain came in time to soak the ground again before it dried up.
We carried on gridding next to where we had done well & we started to get to the bottom of the productive slope. However, things were beginning to dry out & by lunchtime we needed a new plan.
After lunch we were on our back-foot in 'search mode' again. We tried 3 nearby fields (part of the bonus 6). In one I lucked into a hammered but there was nothing else around. On the 3rd field towards the end of the hunt we managed to find a place to grid where we had 8 Roman Coins in the last hour. If harvest is not ready by the end of the week, this is where we will return. ('Search mode' completed)
5.5 hours:

13 Roman Coins - 1 RARE one of Licinius II AD320/21, Trier Mint, Rev: Trophies & Captives RIC VII 288.
Late 18th C Lead/Pewter 4th Queen's Own Hussars Button
Neolithic Flint
Buckles
Scrap Silver
Roman Hair Pin
18th C Coin Weight
4 x 17th C Leather Mounts
1939 Sixpence
Hammered Penny of Henry ???

I never get tired of loking at your finds Crusader. What a great assortment. The neolithic flint is quite interesting, and different. Congrats to you!

Good finds!! Was the piece of worked stone burried?
No just sitting on top of the ploughed field. I always keep my eyes open for these kind of things.
