So I hit an old mining camp today that I have hammered over the years... still spits a few goodies at me, such as 1880's era shell casings and a few buttons, and that's what it was doing again today... but boredom hit. I decided to bounce down the trail to an old well site a few miles away, that had given a few finds years ago.
We have had the driest "monsoon" season I've seen in 3 decades, but I could tell this area go a good storm a week or 2 ago, so there was some fresh earth moved around.
First found the 1888 CANADIAN large cent... how weird is that for southern AZ... figured he was probably the first "snowbird" AZ ever saw... and an "illegal" one at that
The about 20' away... out pops an 1881 "Uno Centavo" from... of course... Mexico.... Dang, another "illegal"... what did they do at this well??
It could have been a North America triad if I found an Indian Head... but no luck. Instead the gods gave me an unfired 45-70 round headstamped from May of 1882.
