Today they are limited to wearing only ten medals on their parade uniforms but during the Cold War, Russians liked to joke about Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev, whose parade uniform groaned under the weight of the 114 medals had he had either been awarded or had awarded himself.

Neat ! What caliber is that shell casing? It is fairly large.

look closely in the pic of it on the ground and you can see a small amount of the ribbon still on it right by the suspension loop

They are from russian war plane IL-2 :) 23 mm machine gun VJA-23.
( On this year I have found more than 50 shell from this plane. )

Award is cleaned :
Result is not bad I think ( 76 years under the ground)
