My wife and I own an 1876 Victorian home in Nashville Indiana. My friend and I went over today for an hour and a very small patch of yard and found this. Not exactly sure what to think about the non-coin item.

Thank you! Any idea on the non coin item? Old coin return from a machine? Flag pole holder? Haha. I have no idea although the bottom flange makes it look like it fit into something else.

Welcome to TNet...!
That non-coin item might be the latching plate to a door lock/knob....!

Ahhhh. Very well could be. Would like to know how old it may be.

Always fun to find a mystery item to keep us guessing...

If it fits a long neck bottle with a crown cap it's a bottle opener probably from a soda machine or chest. Sure looks like one to me.

It has no lip to grab the cap. I’ve tried it a few times. It’s a no go.

The dike and quarter need to be 1964 or earlier to be silver, but a great hunt!
