I had an epic hunt yesterday at the homestead of the 2nd governor of Nevada, Lewis "Broadhorns" Bradley. This location was lost to time but through some investigating I found it. This location is a long way from where I live, 5 1/2 hours, but luckily my job sent me near there for a project. This gave me enough time to schedule a hunt. I contacted a local detectorist prior to making the trip. Luckily he knew the owners of the property and was able to obtain permission for us.

A little about "Broadhorns"

Now for the good stuff! I managed 3 seated 1/2's and my hunting partner got 2 of the most amazing buttons I've seen plus a shield nickel! We found a lot of age indicators, Henry shells, harmonica reeds, rivets, ox shoes, a rosette, and a tape measure that I thought was a pocket watch, plus a spoon and spoon parts. I also found the top to a California Powder Works can. 90ECD571-8BB3-4137-8C14-FF8AD97230EF.jpeg C2611BAF-1839-46D2-AA44-2D0BD4933BDC.jpeg 86F8E384-8513-4C0D-B8EE-4E959E9CB43E.jpeg 1A433D4A-FF34-4C0A-BB11-79C7BAEFB9E1.jpeg 6ACCEDD2-0AC7-4ACF-9EA2-BCC25265ABFA.jpeg

The buttons look to be Iowa militia buttons and would date between 1875 to 1900. Screenshot_20210414-201746_Chrome.jpg

Thank you! I'm not sure how long the homesite existed because the governor died in 1879. Interesting that it was at his house!

Are any of those CC coins? What are the dates and mint marks?

I'm curious for close ups too. I can't blow the pics up and would like to see the reverse on those coins as well.
