"Cuff Link & Brass Miner's Tag

Found this weekend in a very remote arroyo, about 800' below an old mine tailing pile. They both were at 4" in the arroyo bed. Miner's Tag was very heavily encrusted and after 8 hours in the tumbler, no better. Out came the trusty dremel. I feel no harm done since it has little to no value, but revealed it is definitely brass w/the mine initials and miner's number. This mine has been inactive since at least 1909. Cuff link however, is very puzzling, didn't know miner's wore jewelry to work, lol. It is obviously handmade. Stamped on the reverse is TAXCO/925/RO. Due to the close proximity of Old Mexico, probably came from there. Looks as if it is trying to tell me something, wish it could. No mate found tho. Thanks for looking and HH!!!! "Orogrande"

The cuff link is puzzling and as someone else mentioned pretty ugly too... unless that is your taste, i guess

Do you think that area was an old access avenue from Mexico to New Mexico and the cuff link was inadvertently dropped... or maybe the mine owner dropped it or buried it himself cause it was so ugly.

Anyway, Great looking and finding

Let us know what else you find there
