Old Halter Ring For Mule\Horse?

I found this in the veggie garden today. Anyone have any idea what it might be. It was over 8" deep. I was thinking it might be an old ring off a halter used on mules or horses. Didn't have much luck today. Didn't even find a penny.

What size is it across. I may be a bull's nose ring.
I used to put a ring through a bulls nose to control them. The bull always kept his eye on me after that. I think I heard him tell a cow he was biding his time. It has to be split somewhere though to work as a nose ring.

SKD, it is 2" across in all directions. It doesn't have a split. Better watch that bull or you might have to change your handle to SoreButtDayton.....lol

Great advice pepper..I'll watch my .... and the bull. The size is about right for a nose ring and if there is a split it is very fine, usually with a very small set screw holding it.

But it is probably from a harness. Stili nice though.
